Creative Drama For The Language Classroom
Target Audience
Language teachers of all ages and levels.
Please note: you do not need any previous experience of drama to follow this course.
You need an upper intermediate and above level of English to participate in this course.

Course Summary
This course will engage you in a series of practical and energising drama based activities for use in the language classroom. These activities will help you develop better group dynamics, sharing skills and a heightened awareness of the ways you communicate with your students.

Programme of the training activities
group co-ordination and trust exercises
warmers for the classroom
using the body to learn vocabulary and language structures
story telling techniques
creative play through improvisation using the voice and body
developing your own communication skills
using intonation, stress, rhythm and pauses for dramatic effect.

Description of training content:

Preparation
Each applicant to send in action plan 4 weeks before the course outlining hopes and objectives for achievement as a result of attending this course.

Objectives
The course aims to provide participants with a series of drama-based techniques that will allow them to teach more creatively and effectively.

Expected results
As a result of attending this course, the participants will be aware of the importance of drama in the classroom.

English for Primary Teachers or English for Secondary Teachers for a more language focused course.
