These rooms are in a two-storey house in Parkwood Village on the campus of The University of Kent. Each house has 5 or 6 bedrooms, a shower room, a bathroom, toilet and small kitchen/dining area.
Each bedroom has a single bed, study desk, chair and wardrobe. Bed linen is supplied as well as a small towel, these are changed once a week and the house is cleaned daily, Monday to Saturday. The kitchen is equipped with basic cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. Occupants are responsible for washing their cooking utensils, and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy. We recommend that you bring your own towels.
Although the campus is safe and secure, we recommend you do not leave valuables or money in your room when you are not there.
Parkwood Village has public telephone boxes, a pub, a shop and laundry facilities. There is also a University Accommodation Office in Parkwood Village where a receptionist is on duty 9.00 – 17.00 Monday to Friday. Caretakers and security staff are on duty outside these hours.
Rutherford College - where your classes and afternoon/evening programme are held - is a pleasant 20-minute walk from Parkwood Village. Please remember to bring an umbrella.
Meals are not included with this option which is suitable for individuals or small groups of friends who prefer to cater for themselves. For course participants, morning and afternoon tea and coffee Monday to Friday are provided in Rutherford College. There are several shops and cafeterias on the University campus where you can buy snacks/lunches/dinners and food to prepare yourself.
